A reminder about what cryptocurrency is and isn’t: It’s a digital or virtual currency that is secured by cryptography, which makes it nearly impossible to counterfeit or double-spend. Many cryptocurrencies are decentralized networks based on blockchain technology—a distributed ledger enforced by a disparate network of computers. A defining feature of cryptocurrencies is that they are generally not issued by any central authority, rendering them theoretically immune to government interference or manipulation.

Given the spirit of the NCAA college basketball March Madness tournament, we created our very own March Madness Crypto Tournament! We’ve compiled the top 68 cryptocurrencies by market cap as of last week to find which crypto the community believes is the best one to invest early in in 2021. Running in real-time with the NCAA basketball tournament, we’ve reached the round of 32 matchups.
