Highlighting a stock, cryptocurrency, and/or leader we find interesting that potentially offers extreme value over the long-term.
Leader - Tim Cook
In 2011, Tim Cook stepped in as CEO of Apple with massive shoes to fill. His predecessor, Steve Jobs, was one of the most innovative and iconic CEOs of all time.
Fast-forward to 2021: 10 years into Mr. Cook’s leadership and Apple’s market reach and products have expanded tremendously with the company continuing to rank as one of the largest companies on earth every year. Tim has gracefully led the company to new heights without much fanfare while employing a democratic leadership style. In the decade under his control, Apple’s stock has appreciated a mind-blowing 1,200%. With the Apple Event 2021 later this month and the potential for an Apple Car, the company shows no sign of slowing down.
Bitcoin Becomes Legal Tender in El Salvador
On June 9th, the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, signed a bill into law making El Salvador the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. Today goes down as a historic day for the cryptocurrency to officially become legal tender in El Salvador.
President Bukele marked the historic date with an announcement that his country has bought 200 new bitcoins, bringing their total to 400. And the infrastructure is moving forward for the state-owned geothermal electric firm LaGeo to offer bitcoin mining facilities using renewable energy from the country's volcanoes.
What this means moving forward is that we are likely to see a number of nations follow in the footsteps of El Salvador. What countries will be next? Pay attention to Cuba, Paraguay, and Nicaragua in the near-term.
